Rudern in Buenos Aires/ Rowing in Buenos Aires
Nachdem ich diese Jahr schon in Venedig, London, Oslo und Bern gerudert bin konnte ich mit Tigre/ Buenos Aires meiner Ruderweltkarte einen weiteren Ort hinzufügen. Dank einem guten Freund aus München wusste ich vom deutschen Ruderverein Teutonia in Buenos Aires. Ein paar Mail- und WhatsApp-Wechsel später war dann ausgemacht dass ich am Mittwoch nach dem Spanischkurs mit dem Zug raus nach Tigre fahre bzw nach Beccar (ein paar Stationen vor Tigre) wo mich Alejandro der Captain des Clubs dann einsammelt. Das war nötig da der Club etwa außerhalb von Tigre ist und man ohne Auto eigentlich nicht hinkommt. Aber die Autofahrt war sehr interessant, Alejandro hat viel (auf Spanisch) erzählt und zu meinem Erstaunen hab ich viel verstanden. Wir waren dann irgendwann im Wald, eine Schotterpiste runter und da war der Club - ein sehr eindrucksvolles Clubhaus mitten im Grünen. Alejandro hat mir erst das Haus und das Gelände gezeigt und dann haben wir uns einen Doppelzweier geschnappt (aus der Bootswerft von Alejandros Familie) und sind raus aufs Wasser. Tigre liegt am Paranadelta mit lauter kleinen und größeren Kanälen und Seitenarmen. Am Ufer jede Menge Bootsstege von (Wochenende-)Häusern und einfach ganz viel grün. Nur die gelegentlich vorbeibrausenden Motorboote waren etwas lästig. Aber allgemein war ich einfach nur happy und leider mussten wir viel zu früh umkehren um bevor es dunkel wurde wieder am Club zu sein. ---------
After rowing in Venice, London, Oslo and Berne this year I was able to add another location to my rowing world map with Tigre / Buenos Aires. Thanks to a good friend from Munich I knew about the German rowing club Teutonia in Buenos Aires. A few mail and WhatsApp exchanges later it was agreed that I would get the train to Tigre on Wednesday after the Spanish class and get off at Beccar (a few stops before Tigre) where Alejandro the captain of the club would collect me. That was necessary because the club is just outside of Tigre and you can not get there without a car. But the car ride itself was very interesting, Alejandro told me a lot (in Spanish) and to my amazement I understood a lot. And then we were there, somewhere in the forest, down a gravel road and there was the club - a very impressive clubhouse in the countryside. Alejandro first showed me the house and the grounds and then we got out a double scull (from the boatyard of Alejandro's family) and went out on the water. Tigre is located on the Paranadelta with lots of small and larger canals and side arms. On the shore a lot of jetties of (weekend) houses and overall just a lot of green. Only the occasional motorboats (always passing at high speed and creating quite a wash) were a bit annoying. But in general I was just really really happy in our little boat in these beautiful surrounds. Unfortunately we had to return way too early to get back to the club before it got dark.
